Meditations With the Lakota

Anthropology of religion scholar Paul Steinmetz assembled these meditations, prayers, and songs and put them under one title for the first time. Steinmetz shows the progression of Lakota spirituality from the traditional teachings (such as the Sweat Lodge Ceremony or the Vision Quest) to the Native American Church (including the Morning Water Woman and the Peyote Visions) and the Christian influence on the Lakota.
